JOYAM liquid ring vacuum pumps have been successfully used to eliminate the moisture in the plastic during the blending process. In the blending process, which typically occurs prior to extrusion, colors, plasticizers, stabilizers, and other basic agents are added to give your product the desired quality. In this process the plastic material is highly refined but somewhat hygroscopic (2% moisture by weight). Our liquid ring vacuum pumps remove this moisture using a vacuum in the range of 20-25" Hg (abs).

After the plastic has been extruded, it is processed in a calibrating table, where it forms into continuous profiles. An advantage of using our liquid ring vacuum pump in this process, is its ability to operate continuously from atmosphere down to 28" Hg. JOYAM liquid ring vacuum pumps have been successfully used for profiling plastic extruded materials where the plastic is suctioned into a mold and cooled with a cooling bath.

In the vacuum forming process there is a need for a reliable, liquid ring pump to induce the material to fit the contour of the mould. The vacuum needed in this process is typically 28" Hg and capacities can range from 50 to 500 CFM. The advantage of using a JOYAM liquid ring pump is that our global team will work with you to create a solution that meets the requirements of the actual plastic being used, its thickness, its temperature, and the size of the die.

When processing thermoplastics JOYAM understands the importance of degassing the product during extrusion, for quality purposes and to improve its properties. Our liquid ring vacuum pumps have been used and installed in extruding machines, to evacuate the vapors and gasses that are produced during the melting and pushing process.
